After I got my Diploma in Photography (3 year course) in Porto, Portugal, I had my first job as a professional in 1996 where I photographed two brazilian actors for VIP magazine. Since then I became a permanent contributor for that magazine and other publications of the editorial company.

After a couple of years photographing for newspapers and magazines I was awarded the Best Social Photographer of the Year, Events category (River Award-Portugal) and after that I decided to move to Brazil where I was based for almost 12 years where I worked for a local newspaper in Natal, in the northeast. After I decided to be a freelancer and started to work for FramePhoto agency and did a couple of works for Associated Press and for EFE. In 2012 I had the opportunity to work for Getty Images Brazil and after some time for Reuters, till 2016 where I had the opportunity to have published work worldwide such as The Washington Post, The Guardian, National Geographic, Le Figaro, The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, The Times and many others.
In Brazil I’ve learned a lot and I can say it was my best experience ever. In 2017 I moved to England and was back again to photograph for FramePhoto and in 2019 until now I’ve started to work with Pro Sports Images covering football, from Premier League to Champions League games.

With around 24 years covering all kinds of events, from presidents such as Fidel Castro, great music shows, international ministers meetings, European football championships and a World Cup, I can say my great passion in photography is sport, but football is the king.

I work only with Canon top professional equipment and with the laptop I can send photos almost "in real time".  Currently I'm in Porto (Portugal) but I'm available for assignments, in any place of the earth. Feel free to contact me.
